Ephesians 2:5 (NKJV) 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), In Ephesians 2:5 the phrase “made us alive together with” is one word in the original Greek manuscripts: συνεζωοποίησεν. “So what?”, you say. Well, I’ll tell you!
There are many wonderful things which happen to a person at the moment they place their trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior. I heard once that someone counted 51 such things! The passage teaches us that Jesus Christ is the only foundation but that there are different ways to build on that foundation. Our works are likened to various building materials and the day of judgment [...] In Mark 16:15-16 Christ tells his disciples to preach the gospel and includes baptism as part of it: “He who believes and is baptized will be saved”.
